Trust Services

Assets from Investment Trusts

As a custodian, the KSFC performs the following tasks of protecting and managing investment assets according to relevant laws and regulations for collective investment business, where companies sell collective investment securities to investors, manage the pooled funds and distribute the proceeds.

  1. 1.Safekeeping and management of collective investment assets*

     * As investment trust is not a corporate entity, the assets are deposited and managed under the name of the trustee company [Article 80 of the FSCMA, Best Practices for Trust Business (Feb. 2014)]

  2. 2.Acquisition and disposal of assets pursuant to the investment instructions of collective investment companies
  3. 3.Payment for the redemption of beneficiary certificates and of related interests pursuant to investment instructions of collective investment companies
  4. 4.Monitoring investment instructions of collective investment companies*

     * Hedge funds or private equity funds are not subject to mandatory monitoring (However, the fairness of the evaluation of fund assets or adequacy of the base price calculation shall be considered.) [Article 247, Article 249-8, Article 249-20 of the FSCMA]

  5. 5.Collection of interests, dividends, profits, and fees related to collective investment assets
  6. 6.Underwriting of new shares from bonus issues
  7. 7.Receipt of funds redeemed from investment vehicles
  8. 8.Receipt of interest from managing idle funds
  9. 9.Other activities mandated by the Financial Services Commission

Assets from Investment Companies

As a custodian, the KSFC performs the following tasks of protecting and managing investment assets according to relevant laws and regulations for collective investment business, where companies sell stocks of investment companies, etc. to investors, manage the pooled funds and distribute the proceeds.

Other Custodial Services

After signing an Asset Safekeeping and Management Consignment Contract with institutional or corporate investors such as pension funds in relation to entrusted assets, the KSFC provides various services related to the monitoring of investment activities, handling of rights, and the delivery of securities and payment in the process of asset management while safely storing and managing the entrusted assets.
